Terms of Service
Last updated: August 8, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and GlyphStack LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("GlyphStack," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of glyphstack.com and our software applications, including ScribeSage, PlotCascade, InkSlide, NewsletterScriv, Instant Audiobook Video, Mini.Glyph, and FolioScriv (each an "App," and together with our websites, the "Services"). Please read them carefully.
1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using the Services, or by clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. The Services
GlyphStack provides software tools for writing, planning, formatting, marketing, and producing books and related media. Individual Apps may offer different features, plans, and supplementary terms; where an App presents additional terms, those apply together with these Terms, and these Terms govern anything not addressed there.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to form a binding contract, to use the Services. By using the Services you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Accounts
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@glyphstack.com if you suspect unauthorized use. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
5. Subscriptions & billing
Certain Services are offered on a paid, subscription, or one-time-purchase basis. Prices and plan details are shown at the point of purchase. By purchasing, you authorize us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your chosen payment method for the applicable fees, plus any taxes.
- Recurring billing. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (for example, monthly or annually) at the then-current rate for your plan — subject to any locked rate under Founding Author seats below — unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Authorization. You authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.
- Price changes. We may change prices or plans. We will give you reasonable advance notice, and changes take effect on your next billing period. Continuing to use a paid plan after a price change means you accept the new price. This bullet does not apply to a rate locked under Founding Author seats below, which we will not raise.
- Taxes. Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise; you are responsible for applicable taxes.
- Failed payments. If a charge fails, we may suspend or downgrade your access until payment is resolved.
Founding Author seats (NewsletterScriv)
NewsletterScriv offers a limited Founder plan (a "Founding Author seat"). If you hold one, the terms below apply in addition to the general billing terms above and, where they conflict, take precedence over them.
- Limited number. We will sell no more than 50 Founding Author seats in total. Once they are taken, the offer closes permanently and we will not reopen it at that price.
- Locked rate. Your rate is $9 per month (USD), and we will not raise it for as long as your subscription stays continuously active — including when we raise prices for other plans or for new customers. Fees remain exclusive of taxes.
- What's included. A Founding Author seat includes everything in the Pro plan, both as it exists today and as we add to that plan over time, together with up to 10,000 subscribers and unlimited audiences. Optional add-ons and separate products that we price separately from Pro are not automatically included.
- Growing past 10,000 subscribers. If your list outgrows the Founder subscriber limit, you move to the Scale plan, and your Scale rate is locked at $29 per month (USD) — half the standard Scale price — on the same continuous-subscription basis.
- Founder badge & roadmap vote. Founding Authors receive a Founder badge and a vote on our product roadmap. Roadmap votes inform what we build; they are advisory and do not commit us to ship any particular feature.
- Keeping your seat. Your locked rate depends on your subscription staying active. If you cancel, or if your subscription lapses, you give up the seat and the locked rate, and you may re-subscribe only at the then-current price. If a payment fails, we will contact you and give you a reasonable opportunity to update your payment method before treating the seat as lapsed.
- Personal to your account. A Founding Author seat belongs to the account that bought it and cannot be sold, transferred, or assigned to anyone else.
- If the Service ends. Your locked rate lasts for the life of your subscription to NewsletterScriv. It does not oblige us to operate NewsletterScriv indefinitely; if we discontinue it, section 12 (Availability & changes) applies. If NewsletterScriv passes to a new owner as part of a sale of the business, we will pass this commitment on as a condition of that sale.
6. Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel a subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@glyphstack.com. When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged for subsequent periods.
Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or features not used. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@glyphstack.com and we will review your request in good faith.
7. Bring your own keys
Some Apps let you connect your own third-party AI provider API keys. If you use this option, you are responsible for those keys, for any usage fees or charges the third-party provider bills to you, and for complying with that provider's terms. You authorize us to use your keys solely to perform the actions you request within the Services. You are responsible for keeping your keys valid and for revoking them if needed.
8. Your content & ownership
You own your work. As between you and GlyphStack, you retain all rights to the content you upload, create, or generate through the Services, including your manuscripts, outlines, audio, images, and other materials ("User Content").
You grant GlyphStack a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process your User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Services to you (which may include transmitting content to the third-party providers described below). This license exists only to run the Services and ends when you delete the relevant User Content or your account, subject to routine backups and legal requirements.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to your User Content and that it does not infringe or violate the rights of others or any law. You are solely responsible for your User Content and for any outputs you choose to publish or distribute.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services in violation of any law or the rights of others;
- Upload or generate content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you lack the rights to use;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or our systems;
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the Services, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law;
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Services to third parties except as expressly permitted;
- Use the Services to build a competing product, or use automated means to scrape or extract data without our permission.
10. Our intellectual property
The Services, including all software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the GlyphStack name and marks, are owned by GlyphStack or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for their intended purpose. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
11. AI outputs & third-party services
The Services rely on third-party providers, including payment processing (Stripe), authentication (Clerk), cloud hosting (including Google Cloud), email delivery (including Amazon Web Services), analytics and advertising measurement (including Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc.), and AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI. Your use of features powered by these providers may also be subject to their terms.
We use analytics and advertising technologies on our public marketing pages, and we may add, remove, or replace them from time to time. What they are, the pages on which they operate, the pages on which they are never deployed, and the means by which you may opt out are set out in our Privacy Policy.
The Apps are operated as an interoperating suite under a single GlyphStack account. Your account information and User Content may be transferred between Apps where necessary to provide or make available an integrated feature. Such transfers occur within GlyphStack LLC and are not disclosures to a third party; they are described in our Privacy Policy.
AI-generated outputs are produced by automated systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or otherwise unsuitable. They are not professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any output before relying on or publishing it. We make no guarantee that outputs are original, non-infringing, or eligible for copyright protection, and rights in AI outputs may be affected by the applicable AI provider's terms and by law.
12. Availability & changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, and we may offer beta or experimental features that are provided "as is" and may change or be removed. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services, though we will make reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GLYPHSTACK LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR CONTENT, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GlyphStack LLC and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.
16. Termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
Exporting your data after termination (NewsletterScriv only)
This subsection applies to NewsletterScriv and to no other App. It does not create an export right, or an export window, for any other part of the Services.
If your NewsletterScriv account is closed by you or terminated by us, we will keep your data available for export for at least 30 days from the date of termination, so that you can download your subscriber lists, consent records, and sending history. Where we suspend sending rather than terminate the account, your data stays in place and remains exportable for the whole of the suspension.
That 30-day figure is a floor on the self-serve export window, not a retention period. NewsletterScriv separately commits to holding a closed account's data for five years, with three warnings before anything is removed, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you need an export after the 30-day window but within that five-year period, ask us at support@glyphstack.com and we will produce one.
17. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the exclusive venue for any dispute that is not otherwise resolved will be the state courts of Columbia County, Pennsylvania, or the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at legal@glyphstack.com with a short description of the dispute and what you are asking for, and to give us 30 days from that notice to resolve the matter informally. If we have not resolved it within those 30 days, either of us may then bring a claim. We will follow the same step before bringing a claim against you.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms. This section does not permit us to raise or remove a rate locked under Founding Author seats.
19. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, or any of your rights or obligations under them, without our prior written consent, and any attempted assignment without that consent is void.
We may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets. As a condition of any such assignment, we will require the assignee to agree in writing to be bound by these Terms, including the Founding Author seat commitments in section 5. These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
